For all you Eastern Washington brides, your blog prayers have been answered. There is now a wedding resource specifically for you! Rachel over at Apple Brides is working her tail off to share all the best of Spokane weddings. Being an Eastern Washington gal myself, I can say that her lovely blog is long over due. When I got engaged, I had the hardest time finding wedding venues and vendors close to my home town… so much so that we ended up tying the knot on the West side of the state. I’m so glad that the Eastern Washington region finally has some fabulous representation on the wedding blog front. So head over to Apple Brides- and while you’re there, check out her feature on Cailin and Joel’s Beacon Hill wedding from last year. Such a fun night!

Desert Canyon Golf Resort: Megan & Mike
Megan and Mike’s wedding at Desert Canyon Golf Resort was the perfect Eastern Washington wedding. The sun was out in full force, and the blue skies and breathtaking views made for a dramatic back drop for their vows. Aside from being cuter than “Barbie and Ken” (as all their friends call them), Megan and Mike are so incredibly fun to be around. It’s so apparent that theses two share a great love for life, and an even greater love for each other. I have no doubt these two will still be making each other smile at their 60th anniversary- and who could ask for more?
M & M- it was such a blast working with you. Congratulations!!
Things I loved:
Megan’s dress. Such a romantic silhouette.
The boys’ attire. White shirts and flip flops are so perfect for Summer.
One word- Limbo. Every reception needs it.
Their ceremony programs. Ridiculously cute.
Dancing under the stars and Italian wedding lights. I love Italian wedding lights.
Mike’s face when he first saw Megan.
And thank you to Libby from Sweet Bliss Events for putting together a seamless and exquisite day.
Side Note: During the reception, the sprinklers came on and hit the dance floor. Not two seconds later, some of Megan and Mike’s beloved guests were throwing themselves over the sprinkler head to keep the party going. Those are the kind of guests I’d want at my party. So rad.
Hidden Meadows Wedding: Trisha + Jake
Trisha was absolutely glowing when I showed up for her wedding. The room was a buzz with her 7 bridesmaids and her, prepping for the day. I don’t know why, but there is something so fun about sitting around doing your make up with your best girlfriends. We were blessed with a GORGEOUS sunny day in Snohomish. The outdoor ceremony wasn’t too hot, but it stayed warm enough into the night that guests mingled outside on the patio under the stars. Love that! It may have been a little warm for the guys though, because I had to drag them out of the walk in fridge on more than one occasion. Then again, maybe it was just all the beer chilling in there.
Things I loved:
Red shoes!! I love a pop of color on a wedding day!
Trisha’s custom ‘Mrs. Howarth’ hanger. ADORABLE!
Big bridal party! The more, the merrier!
Their first sight- once these two were together, they could not keep their eyes off each other. Perfect.
The red, orange, brown color palette. Yum.
SPARKLERS!
Trisha and Jake are Cougs. Rad.

Hawaii Destination Wedding: Melissa and Michael
Blue skies scattered with bright white clouds, sandy beaches, and delicious tropical details- I loooooove a beach side wedding.
Michael and Melissa are such a fun couple from Portland OR. I love to watch them laugh together, and I adore the way Michael looks at Melissa. They chose Oahu as the place to mark the beginning of their new life together- which was also the place where Michael popped the question. Pure perfection.
Their wedding took place at the most beautiful beach side home just outside of Honolulu- which turns a typical one day event, into a week long celebration with their closets family and friends.
I always like when couples exchange a small gift on the wedding day. It’s so nice to have one more little thing to remember the day by. Michael gave Melissa a binder full of instant message conversations they’d shared during the first months of their relationship- yup, he saved them all. *sigh* BIG POINTS for that one, Michael.
We stopped by their favorite road side diner on the way back from the beach. I think it was killing Melissa not to get a big shaved ice in her white gown- and I totally get it. Yum!
Michael and Melissa, thank you SO much for inviting me to share such a special event with you! The day was such an amazing display of love and beauty, and I wish nothing less than that for your future together. -KH
