Seattle Wedding Photographer: A year in review

Wow.  2010 was an amazing year.  I can’t even begin to describe how lucky I feel to be doing something I love.  Weekend after weekend, I went to joyful celebrations (and rockin’ parties!), all in the name of LOVE.

To my 2010 Brides and Grooms-

I am so deeply honored and excited to have witnessed it all.  The speeches, the vows, the laughter, and your crazy aunt on the dance floor.  I can’t believe the weddings this year- oh, how I loved seeing bits and pieces of who you are incorporated into your day.  But most of all, I feel so blessed that you chose me to document those memories for you.  I know you have a large selection when it comes to photographers, and I thank you for trusting me with such an important task.  I don’t know how I am so lucky to work with such rad couples.  Seriously.  THANK YOU.  You rock.

To my 2010 Portrait Clients-

Where do I begin?  You’ve invited me into your homes, let me play with your kids, cuddle your babies, and laugh with your family.  I am giddy with excitement to see how your kiddos have grown with each mile stone.  Some of you are on your 5th, 6th and 7th portrait sessions with me, and I am SO INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for your loyalty over these past few years.  You’ve passed my name to your best friends and family, and there is just no greater compliment than that.  I am SO THANKFUL for your support.

Thank you all for your emails, your blog comments, your FB posts.  I am looking forward to another year of fun!

SO, this post took me FOREVER to put together.  It was agonizing to choose only one image from each wedding, and I was easily derailed- sifting through your images and smiling at the fun you had.  So I’ve decided that if I’m going to spend a million years on one blog post, I had better give away some free stuff!  SO, here’s the deal-

Vote for your favorite image by leaving a comment on this post with the image number.  The image with the most votes has a $300 GIFT CARD going to it’s corresponding Bride and Groom.  Use it towards your wedding album, prints, or a future portrait session.  And I can’t let the newlyweds have all the fun, so one of the voters is going to win a $100 GIFT CARD too!  I’ll use a random number picker to choose the comment winner- so make sure you use a legit email.  Voting ends 1/13 at midnight, Seattle time. One vote per person, please.

And if you haven’t all ready, march on over to the FACEBOOK PAGE and become a fan so you never miss another opportunity to win!  (And because I love to hear from you!)

Suncadia Resort- Cle Elum, Washington: Jenn + Isaac

BIG wedding post today.  :)   I am so excited to share Jenn and Isaac’s wedding at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum Washington. It’s been a long time coming- Jenn signed on with me summer of ’09, and I loved watching the planning process over the next year.  It’s amazing how all those little details fall into place to make one exquisite wedding!

Jenn was the classic and stunning, blushing bride, and Isaac was her perfect prince charming.  The girl has ridiculously good taste, and I found myself loving every last detail from her romantic cathedral veil to her green satin shoes.  Please check out the adorable and oh-so-Northwest party favors… Honey Jars- how ‘sweet’ is that?!

The ceremony took place at the most charming white church in Rosyln, WA.  I distinctly remember letting out a little squeal of delight when I pulled up to it.  The classic architecture and crisp white walls reminded me of every romance story I’d read as a little girl.  After some emotional vows, the guests were treated to dinner and drinks in Suncadia’s gorgeous white tent. I’m completely smitten with Sucadia now.  It has the perfect balance of rustic NW accents and luxury resort.  Did I mention it’s surrounded by breathtaking views of the Cascades?!  Yeah, I’m booking my winter get away now.

Back to Jenn and Issac…

These two are so meant to be.  Seeing them together, they had the most endearing chemistry- a constant balance of give and take topped a very solid and supportive friendship.  The best man speech was one of the best I’ve ever heard- the perfect mix of creativity, wit, and sincerity.  I wish I had it to share with you word-for-word, but it was a true testament to their love for each other.  Hiding behind my camera, my eyes were brimming with tears (we all know I’m a sucker for romance!), but in my defense, everyone else was right there with me.

Congrats to Jenn and Issac!  Thank you SO MUCH for inviting me to play this role in your wedding.  I was honored and thrilled to work with you both, and I cannot wait to hear what adventures you share together in the future.

Auburn Wedding: Wine and Roses Country Estate {Stephanie + Paul}

The morning was gray and the clouds were threatening rain, but Stephanie was glowing.  I totally fell in love when I arrived at Wine and Roses Country Estate.  Charming photo opps were around every corner, and I had the cutest/happiest bride to photograph- lucky me!

Stephanie and Paul are one of those couples that make you go ‘aww’.  They wrote their own vows, and I am certain there was not a dry eye that day.  Definitely some of the most touching/thoughtful vows I’ve heard.  It was such an honest declaration of love, right there under an apple tree.  And as the rain held just long enough for them to walk back down the aisle as husband and wife, I couldn’t help but get the warm fuzzies.
