Happy New Year!!!

seattle wedding and portrait photographerWhat an amazing year!!!

I cannot believe 2011 has come to an end- I’m going to be dating things ‘2011’ for at least 3 months while it all sets in.

I am incredibly thankful for all the blessings that came my way over the last 12 months.  It was a whirlwind year for KHPC.  I shot my 100th wedding this Fall (I cannot believe how quickly that milestone came!), found my pictures on the pages of both issues of Seattle Bride Magazine (and they put out some gorgeous issues this year!), and hit a new record for number of portraits/weddings photographed.  I feel like I’ve finally found exactly who I am and who I want to be as a photographer, and finding my groove within that has been a fantastic feeling.  But above all, I am so genuinely thankful for my clients.  You have been so good to me.  Thank you, thank you, thank you– you’ve encouraged me, you’ve shouted my name to your friends, and most importantly, you’ve shared with me precious milestones to you and yours- and for that, I am so grateful.

We also found out that we’re expecting baby Honeycutt V2.0 this March and the anticipation of adding another little boy to our family has be smiling from ear to ear.  2012 is already on course for plenty of new adventures of its own, and I am ready and waiting!

Despite my absence from the blog recently (I’m far too embarrassed to say exactly how long it’s been since my last blog post!), I have SO many sessions and weddings that I am dying to share with you here!  I will do my best to keep them coming at you fast over the next few months, so pop back often- I’m so excited!  I hope you all had an amazing holiday with the ones you love.  Thank you for keeping up with my little corner of the internet, and I hope to see you in 2012!

Cheers!!

Toot toot. (that’s me tooting my own horn)

After SO many hours creating inspirations boards, talking color palettes/style/fonts, playing with web design, and examining paper, the new website and blog are FINALLY live.  Whew!  Have you peeked at my new WEDDING AND PORTRAIT PORTFOLIO?  What do you think?

I have been so excited for this day.  I finally have pieces that reflect both myself and my business, and boy does that feel good.  And I’d love to share some of my new print pieces with you- aren’t they pretty??  There are lots more to come, and I can’t wait to start packing these up and shipping them out.

Seattle Wedding and Portrait Photogrpaher has a new look on the blog and website.

Mae Mae Paperie designed my logo and some of the other print pieces, and I built my website myself using Showit/SiteHouse.  (LOVE having the ability to customize away, and Showit’s customer service has been so great!!)

And I still need to give away a canvas, now don’t I?!

The 16×20 Canvas goes to….

Old and new… Those people…that eat the food. Yes, them too… Not just the people within the church and steapel… but rather a specific one standing across from me Crying, trust me…I’m not lying.”

Oh, Kevin.  SO excited for your wedding.  🙂

Thank you SO much to everyone who entered.  I love hearing from you!  It has been so much fun reading your comments, and I really appreciate all the facebook love.  You make my day!

So here’s to a fresh start and a new milestone.

One more day… and the first look.

Just one more day!  Tomorrow, I’ll have a sparkly new website and blog- just for you!  Yay!

So first, I think I need to announce who’s getting the $100 gift card to KHP…

drumroll….

Comment #13- Lisa -” I would love to use the $100 Gift Card for an Engagement session. I’m not engaged yet…but those are just minor details that could be figured out later! :)”

Lisa, shoot me an email with your mailing address, and I’ll send you out a pretty little gift card for $100.

And on that note, how about ANOTHER GIVE-AWAY for today?  Yes??  Well, okay.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be giving away a 16×20 canvas (a $200 value) to one delightful comment-er.  Just leave a comment on this blog post, telling me your favorite part of a wedding.  The shoes, the vows, the toasts, or the bar- whatever you love about weddings!  🙂  And if you haven’t already, make sure you LIKE the facebook page.

And I can’t leave you without any pictures, so please enjoy this sweet ‘first sight’ from last Saturday’s wedding at The Edgewater hotel.  How happy do they look?!  Makes me tear up just looking through these.  awwwwwww.

Hidden Meadows Wedding: Karin + Ryan

TWO DAYS until the new website launches!  Yipee!!  I’m so excited that I think I need to give something away. SO, why not a $100 gift card for Kristen Honeycutt Photo Co.?  Fabulous.  To enter, leave a comment below telling me how you’d use your $100 KHP gift card, go and LIKE Kristen Honeycutt Photographer on Facebook,  and I’ll draw a winner tomorrow.  All comments must be made by 9AM Seattle time Thursday (tomorrow) morning.  Sounds good?  Good!

And here is a lovely winter wedding at Hidden Meadows.  LOVED all the thoughtful details of this one.  How cute are the custom wedding party T-shirts they made for their bridal party??!  And that green, black, and white color palette feels so clean and crisp.

Karin and Ryan, so were SO much fun to work with.  I have the biggest smile on my face looking through these pictures now.  It was such a fun day.  And remember those CRAZY CAM pics?!  Perfection.
